Iceland is place of significant contradictions. It is a volcanic island yet its climate is wickedly wintry and cold. However, for photographers, Iceland can be a like Disneyland for a fine art landscape photographer. This is for the fact that patterns may it be unvarying or contradicting can yield a beautiful photograph. One of the most significant elements in photography is effective composition. A fine art image is at its best when it has captured various textures in a photograph. When you speak about texture it is the curves, patterns and contrast that make a great photo. This fine art image of the Svinaefellsjokull Glacier emphasized on the contrast and texture of the elements in the environment. Visitors to Iceland have been enchanted throughout the years by the Northern Lights. Properly known as Aurora Borealis, this stunning display of natural light phenomena have been subjects of a myriad of fine art photos since time immemorial.

The dazzling colors and mesmerizing glow of the Northern Lights across the night sky appears naturally magical in photos. Thus, plenty of seasoned and aspiring nightscape photographers from across the globe travel to Iceland to capture the best images they can get.

This fine art image is of the Northern Lights was taken during a photography trip to Iceland. The lights are mostly of green color because of the interaction between the oxygen and nitrogen approximately 60 miles above the atmosphere of the earth. One of the most interesting places to visit for an outdoor photographer are the National Parks within the United States.
